MOBILE, AL (WKRG) A burglary suspect involved in a high-speed chase that reached speeds of 100mph on Cottage Hill Road crashed at the intersection of Blue Ridge Boulevard.

The three-mile chase began after Mobile police caught the burglary in progress at the Sea Bee’s Shell Gas Station at Grelot and Schillinger Road in West Mobile.

The suspect, who police described as a wanted serial burglar, has been arrested, according to police at the scene of the crash. We’re told Mobile Police were keeping a close eye on this particular gas station, which has been targeted by thieves five times.

The owner of the gas station says the suspect first tried to smash a window at the store to get inside.  When that failed he pried his way through a door and grabbed cigarettes.

“The only reason people from Mobile move to Daphne is because of stuff like this. It’s time they catch them,”  said Kenny Pyle, who owns the gas station.  “You can’t know where [thieves are] all the time. It’s frustrating but just something you have to deal with.”
