On Thursday November 09, 2017, the Southeast Mississippi Narcotics Task Force (SEMNTF) – consisting of Agents from the George County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO), Lucedale Police Department (LPD) and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office – and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics (MBN), assisted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Safe Streets Task Force (SSTF), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Border Enforcement Security Task Force (BEST), United States Marshals Service (USMS), began serving arrest warrants for Operation “Crackdown” in the City of Lucedale and surrounding George County.

Operation “Crackdown” consisted of 29 individuals, with 42 charges that stem from selling Methamphetamine, Crack Cocaine, and Prescription Opioids such as Hydrocodone and Oxycodone in the City of Lucedale and George County. Agents are also serving arrest warrants on 6 individuals for possession of a controlled substance.

Information concerning defendants, including names, charges, and booking pictures, will be released as they become available.

This is an ongoing investigation, and more arrests may be made at a later date.

George County Sheriff Keith Havard wants to assure the public that the SEMNTF will continue to work to reduce the drug problems in George and Greene Counties, stating that more operations such as this will follow.
